Veteran's Day 2018
Zion Veteran Appreciation
Sunday, November 11, 2018
We welcomed guest pastor Jon Meyer, who is a veteran. Following the service…
There were military items on display from David Martiny.
A video presentation of basic training in the Air Force.
Don Schneider will share Life in the Korean War.
DuWayne & Linda Wieck also visited here from Camo Quilts. *We had an offering box for those wanting to help defray the cost of making and shipping the quilts to service men and women. Each quilt costs $25 to make and the service men and women receive them free of charge.
Pat Seibel will demonstrate what Fidget Quilts are and how they help veterans in assisted living and nursing homes.
*We also had a box available for donations of materials that would be useful for making Fidget Quilts.
*Items that could be donated are as follows:
Lace, small (hand held 4”) stuffed animals, buttons (large hole for stringing), stringing beads, empty thread spools, shoe strings, ribbon, rick rack, fur, zippers, drapery, and placemats. These are just a few of the many items that could be used. Now is the time to go through your craft/sewing/quilting stash and give to an amazing cause for our men and women who have served our country.
